Indication of Tetrazin 12.5mg Tablet

Tetrabenazine is used to treat the chorea associated with Huntington's disease.

Pharmacology:

• At dosages of 50 mg, Tetrabenazine can prolong the QTc interval.
• Tetrabenazine or its metabolites bind to melanin-containing tissues in rats, such as the eyes and skin.
• Tetrabenazine is a reversible inhibitor of human vesicular monoamine transporter type 2, depleting reserves of monoamine neurotransmitters like serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.

Dosage & Administration of Tetrazin 12.5mg Tablet

• Dosage is individualized based on the patient's response and tolerance.
• Initial dose: 12.5 mg per day, gradually titrated up to 50 mg per day.
• Dosing recommendations above 50 mg per day require testing for metabolizer status.
